A note from the manufacturer:
No stains are used. Our barked blocks are dipped in a food grade wax before being heat treated in a kiln (this helps stabilize the bark). Our smooth blocks have no finish at all. The treehouses and all accessories/furniture are finished with flaxseed oil.
