An adorable organic cotton doll from Nanchen in Germany. It comes with a hand-painted face, in typical "Waldorf" style. The hat is not removable and features small pieces of mohair as hair coming out from the hat. The pants are made with organic cotton terry with the shirt made from an organic cotton patterned linen.
It is filled with KbT wool which is wool that is strictly controlled, for example, the pasture is not sprayed with pesticides, and there is no fertilizer used in the soil.

Nanchen Dolls have been lovingly stitched in a small town just outside of Kassel, Germany, since 1983. The dolls are made from materials that are sourced from strictly organic cultivation and organic farming. The faces are individually hand-painted, giving each doll its own unique character.In addition to being snuggly and cute, Nanchen dolls meet strict safety and environmental standards. In 2012 Nanchen was purchased from the original owners, by two enterprising young women (Janah von Buttlar and Juliane Krueger) who as children played with Nanchen dolls. Since 1983, Nanchen dolls have been caringly handmade and hand-painted in north Hesse. Founded by Nana and Peter Sendke as a small side project to their toy shop, the manufactory quickly developed into something bigger.

If your wool filled doll gets dirty, you can first remove the coarse dirt with a brush. Since Nanchen only uses the best quality natural fibers (no polyester), heavy washing is usually not necessary.The pure sheep's wool filling is a natural fiber that can shrink, mat, or clump if exposed to hot water, harsh detergent, or strong spinning.
Light Cleaning:
- Brush off coarse dirt gently.
Washing (if necessary):
- Hand wash only
- Use lukewarm water (comfortable to touch)
- Use mild or wool-specific detergent
- Avoid hot water, harsh detergents, and spinning
Washing Process:
- Soak in clear water first
- Add a small amount of mild detergent and gently move the toy in the water
- Do not rub, brush, spin, or wring
Drying:
- Squeeze out excess water gently
- Lay flat on an absorbent towel
- Reshape and move occasionally while drying
- Wet wool smell will disappear after drying
